Description
Technically, the title should be fiaschi, since the photo shows three of them. A fiasco is a straw-wrapped bottle used for storage and transport of wine. Historically used in Italy, fiaschi could be found on the tables of peasants and popes alike. These bottles are unusual in that the straw appears on the shoulders and up to the neck--a practice that was discontinued in 1621.
