The Don CeSar, sometimes referred to as The Pink Palace, is a magnificent hotel on the beautiful white sand beach of St Pete Beach, Florida. Designed by Henry Dupont and opened in 1928, the Mediterranean- and Moorish-influenced building has had an interesting life: housing the New York Yankees for their spring training during the Great Depression, serving as an Army military hospital during WWII, and being abandoned and nearly razed in the early 1970s. It is now owned and operated by Loews Hotels as a resort and spa.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from the University of Florida in 1985, and worked in design and advertising for 15 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. I married my college sweetheart, and we have two almost-grown children. I was born in Philadelphia, but happily consider myself a Florida girl, as I have lived in the beautiful Sunshine State nearly all my life. No longer a slave to client deadlines, I am happy to be creating just the art I want to create at this stage in my life. I love finding beauty in the ordinary--in fact, I rarely ever stage or set-up a photo because I find it's just not necessary. Wonderful images are all around us every day!
